By the Numbers
One of the longest-running services provided by the Fairfield County Library is Dial-a-Story.  Dial-a-Story was installed in 1978 with help from a federal LSCA grant and  the Friends of the Library who paid for the monthly phone line cost (and who still do that today!).
We have upgraded the equipment and
By the Numbers. tapes several times over the years, and the service continues to be popular with children and adults alike.

Dial-a-Story averages 600 calls per week in the summer and 500 calls per week during the school year.

Stories change weekly.  Call 635-2020.
WebLinks A mouse! Another mouse! Yet another mouse!
Search engines are huge databases of web page files that have been assembled by "spiders" and "robots" that crawl through the Web indexing pages.

Search engines work by searching their indexes for matching keywords and phrases, and then present their findings to you in some kind of relevance

ranking. Search engines differ in size, ranking criteria, and speed, so your results will vary depending on the search engine you use. Two of the best at this time are:
